I really didn't draw a lot this year. But I take pride in what I've gained and learned from Sketch Club from the start, both enjoyment and productivity. And I am tremendously grateful for finding a creative home here. Mine was not a quick and easy learning path, and still and always ongoing. It's a lot of hard work, patience, humility, understanding, even tears and hurt feelings too! Human weaknesses, they are not easy to overcome. In the kind of art, portraiture is one of the hardest for me to achieve. So I tried to focus on it. I practiced even when I felt that it's useless to try. Sure I had fun in this place, but having the mindset that art should be taken seriously, it helped me as I moved towards my goal, and learn from others who lead a good example. Didn't matter if it was a slow progression as long I was moving. I just had to try because we will never know what we can do until we try. No matter what level we are in, the steps are always inclined to go up, it shouldn't be going down nor should it be static. As for me, like I said, I'm still working in progress, still a lot to learn and accept in myself and around me, and I need to try to draw more. We shouldn't stop learning, practicing and discovering new things, new styles, new strokes....even new attitude. I want to be like the soulful 吉η₯₯物语-wds999 someday, that's my goal....which is next to impossible!😬 But I don't mind dreaming, it's free!πŸ˜‰
Here's a sketch I did from years back when I thought I could never draw a decent portrait...
