Founded by an Italian immigrant family in the early 20th century, the Vesuvio Bakery served the Soho community of NYC for about 75 years. In the 1990s, it closed its doors for renovation but never reopened. Later, the property sold and became a specialty shop.
I love bread! In my dream world, I would live next door to a French/Italian bakery and indulge as much as I wanted in rolls, baguettes, loaves, and a few pastries all slathered with real butter, without ever gaining a pound or raising my cholesterol!
