In early morning stillness, before the glow has lit the skies,
I lie upon my bed and slowly open my eyes.
Though gray is all around me as I glance around my room, I know the Light is coming to chase away the gloom. For darkness holds no power to corrupt or to deceive, if I but turn toward the Light and say, Lord, I believe. As surely as the Son did rise, the dark will pass away. As truth and love come shinning into the break of day. Today I will not cower; there is nothing that I fear.
Whenever I call out his name, I know that he will hear.
Each morning he reminds me, when dawn becomes new day. That Christ the Lord has risen and comes to light my way. Written by: Linda Gleason
