Muddy Waters recorded the song Rollin' Stone in 1950. Both Rolling Stone magazine and the rock group The Rolling Stones were named after the song. His real name was McKinley Morganfield and was born in 1913. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987, four years after his death. He was often cited as the "father of modern Chicago blues".
