Sketch a piece of pottery or sculpture that includes a design or pattern. Take a look at it, and then do it your way.
I love the Talavera design pottery. I’ve been collecting it slowly for about 15 years. Talavera is a Mexican hand painted pottery.
Talavera, in Puebla and Tlaxcala, Authentic Talavera pottery only comes from the town of San Pablo del Monte (in Tlaxcala) and the cities of Puebla, Atlixco, Cholula, and Tecali (all these four latter in the state of Puebla), because of the quality of the natural clay found there and the tradition of production which goes back to the 16th century. Much of this pottery was decorated only in blue, but colors such as yellow, black, green, orange and mauve have also been used. Maiolica pottery was brought to Mexico by the Spanish in the first century of the colonial period.
Look in WIPS to see other examples of Talavera.
This is a piece that I owned, but lost in hurricane Irma. This is kind of what I remember it looking like.
Wow! Thanks so much to everyone for the sweet comments, likes and hearts! I'm truly humbled.
A VERY special thank you to my Hurricane Irma buddy, Kimmers
for the feature! So glad I got to know you better during the storm. It was the one highlight in all of the chaos...trying to keep each other calm. I'm honored to call you friend! 😘💕 Thank you so much Kim!
