The classic pinup, as practiced by masters Alberto Vargas, Gil Elvgren, Zoë Mozert, or the above example from George Petty was risqué but never explicit, erotic but always safe for work. These pin-up girls with rosy cheeks, bouncy curls, hourglass figures and penchant for thematic lingerie were found in calendars, advertising posters, pasted inside barracks, hung in garages, and tucked into soldiers’ pockets. You are invited to paint one of these lovely ladies in classic pinup style either from an original example, pinup-izing a reference photo, or from your imagination (the original masters often painted from photos they'd taken or from life).
* Up to four entries per artist.
* No image loads, make it all in SketchClub.
* References are fine. If you elect to reference an existing pinup or photo, you're bound to learn something. Please credit the original artist/photographer if you do, or include your reference as a WIP.
