The Heceta Head Lighthouse on the Oregon Coast was built in 1849. It is 56 ft tall and shines a beam visible for 21 nautical miles, making it the strongest working light on the Oregon Coast. It is said to be one of the most beautiful and most visited Lighthouse in the US. It is certainly one of the most photographed. It has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Something different about this Lighthouse is that since the light is now automated, there was no need for the light keepers house and it has been turned into a bed and breakfast and has become a destination for many weddings and other functions. Multiple references used. Main reference included but others for a more close Up on the light were used Unknown photographer.
