"Depression is the flaw in love. To be creatures who love, we must be creatures who can despair at what we lose, and depression is the mechanism of that
Despair." -- Andrew Solomon

I must share something that happened to my wife yesterday to anyone who will listen. She has been going through many difficulties. Her father had
a stroke, her mother heart problems and dementia, my loss of work, etc. She was at the grocery store yesterday and there was an elderly black lady in front of her with a few things in her cart. The lady handed the clerk a card and asked her if there was still any money on it. She checked and found it to have only $1.27 still available. The lady asked if she had anything in her cart that that would purchase. The clerk said "Yes .. a bag of rice." The woman bought that only and walked out the door. My wife had gone through a very bad day with her mother and was tired and did not grasp what had just happened in front of her. As soon as she did she quickly paid for what she had and ran out after the elderly lady to take her back and purchase some groceries for her. The lady was nowhere to be found. She drove all over the parking lot looking in cars and around the area but with no success. A sudden emotion welled up within my wife about possibly what had just happened. With all of our woes ... there are many around us who are in much greater despair. We are Blessed! We need to reach out quickly to help others before we miss the chance. The Bible also says in Hebrews 13.2 "Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." ... Thank you for listening!
