This was taken right after I was adopted from China. At that time the one child policy was still part of the Chinese law, which said you could have only one child per family. My birth mother had broken the law to set me and some blankets and food near a place where I would be found and taken to an orphanage, if she hadn’t, either I would have been aborted or worse. I had a bruise on my head from banging my head against something, I still have the scar and tiny indent from it. I don’t remember when I was this young but it’s still part of my childhood memories as a picture and a story.
