Believe it or not but the Netherlands could easily be the land with the most whirlwinds in the whole wide world. And no, they are not the monster F5 tornadoes like in the US. The Netherlands is a delta and has lots of rivers, lakes and it borders the North Sea. Most of our whirlwinds are water spouts and socalled ropenado's, those long stretched ones. I have seen a few myself and also a bunch of small tuba's.
Whirlwinds are in fact rotating clouds of water vapor, so for the clouds compo I combined the beautiful mills of Kinderdijk with a strong tornado in the background. Not something likely to happen and yes, better 100 waterspouts than one of these. Those poor mills 😜
